Containerized Thermal Treatment System for PFAS Destruction in Contaminated Soils
Learn about a cutting-edge solution for PFAS remediation: a containerized thermal treatment system designed to extract and completely destroy per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in contaminated soils.
This innovative system, developed by Arkil AS and Haemers Technologies SA, eliminates the need for secondary waste treatment, reduces environmental impact, and offers a scalable, sustainable solution for PFAS-contaminated sites.

Jan Haemers
Chief Executive Officer
Jan is the CEO and owner of Haemers Technologies, a global leader in thermal
desorption solutions for soil remediation. With nearly 35 years of experience,
Jan has been a pioneer in the field, shaping soil legislation in Belgium and
Europe and advocating for sustainable remediation through innovative in situ
technologies. He holds three Master's degrees in Mining Engineering, Geological
Engineering, and Hydrogeological Engineering, and has long promoted circular
thinking in soil management, favoring effective in situ remediation over
traditional dig-and-dump methods. Under his leadership, Haemers Technologies
operates worldwide, with over 60 patented and patent-pending solutions to
restore contaminated land efficiently and sustainably. Jan is also a frequent
lecturer at European universities and an expert evaluator for EU research
programs.
